Student / Farmwork Alliance Encuentro

GWU sent a strong delegation of seven students to this weekend's Student / Farmworker Alliance Encuentro in New York City.

On day one we celebrated recent Coalition of Immolakee Workers victories with drinks and a dance party!

On day two we attended workshops on coalition building, organizing philosophy, and strategic planning.

On day three we made a public spectacle of Trader Joe's, marching from their Union Square location to their Chelsea store, both in the middle of Manhattan.

Props to GW Students for Fair Trade and the Georgetown Solidarity Committee for coming with us. Thanks to the Brooklyn Free School for lodging us and the Community / Farmworker Alliance NYC for planning this awesome weekend!
